Hi, purchased the loft natural brushed and oiled flooring. Looks great and really happy with it. I've recently been toucing up some paintwork and accidently dripped some paint on the flooring. I tried wiping the paint off immediately but upon doing so rubbed away some of the original finish, which has left a lighter patch on the floor. Hello - If I lay this on top of original floorboards, is the underlay recommended?: Hi, thank you for getting in touch! I would still recommend using either the Timberlay Silver or Gold underneath the Engineered Wood as this will ensure your floor is extremely comfortable to walk on, reduces heat loss and has a built-in damp-proof membrane to stop moisture coming up from the subfloor and damaging the planks.
