- What product do you recommend to restore surface finish after cleaning paint splashes.
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch. My first choice would be Osmo Maintenance Oil as Osmo specifically recommends Maintenance Oil for dull/matt oiled flooring and says it can refresh the protective surface without sanding. This particular product is treated with Klumpp coatings in the manufacturing process. I hope this helps, if you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us, Kind Regards, Christina.
- The decorator has splashed micro drops of water based paint that has dried. Attempting to removed the spots lightens the boards. The spots need to be rubbed hard. Please can you recommend a treatment/product to restore the boards?
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! Whilst you can use a clear satin oil to try to remove the spots, the spots will still remain visible but will be less visable. For the best results we would suggest your speaking to a floor refinisher as blending in smaller areas can be more difficult that refinishing the whole area. I hope this helps, and if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind Regards, Kevin.
- How often do you have to oil?
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch. We would recommend oiling the floor once installed and then re-oiling every 2 years, depending on the traffic of the property. I would recommend the Anti-slip extra clear oil - https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/osmo-polyx-oil-anti-slip-extra-clear-3089.html. I hope this helps, and if you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to get back in touch. Kind Regards, Christina.
- What cleaning product would be best to use to clean this flooring?
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! To clean an Oiled Engineered Wood flooring, we would recommend either, sweeping or vacuuming regularly. Then use a specialist cleaning solution for Oiled Wood such as the following product: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/impero-elite-wood-flooring-cleaning-kit.html. I hope this helps, and if you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to contact us. Kind Regards, Kimberley
- Is this flooring suitable for kitchen and conservatory? We have laid in all the other rooms and are now thinking to add in here as well. Alternatively, is there a matching option? Thank you very much.
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! This can be laid in a kitchen, however, we would not recommend installing this in a conservatory. The fluctuation in temperatures can warp and damage the planks over time. Additionally, this can impact the colour of the flooring when laid in direct sunlight. I would recommend looking at the EvoCore Nature - Golden Oak as this has a real wood veneer and can be installed in conservatories, sunrooms and orangeries up to 38 degrees: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/evocore-nature-golden-oak.html. I hope this helps! If there is anything else we can assist with, please do not hesitate to get back in touch. Kind Regards, Katie.
